1. About Us
BC Team Building Consultancy is an independent building consultancy employing experienced, Director-level surveyors and specialists with deep expertise to support clients. We operate as an extension of client teams from offices nationwide.
Close client relationships matter to us. The business is founded on timely, high-quality service from experienced professionals, with a focus on the commercial issues that count.
2. Statement
The Company uses various sub-consultants and suppliers covered by this Statement. We support Modern Slavery Act principles and ethical trading, and we implement, monitor and review policies so our processes do not directly or indirectly exploit workers or breach human rights.
- All colleagues are paid at or above the UK statutory minimum wage or the National Living Wage for those aged 25 and over.
- Working Time Regulations apply to breaks, opt-in or opt-out of the maximum working week, and we encourage use of statutory or company holiday within the current leave year.
- Where overtime applies or colleagues opt out of the 48-hour limit, we monitor wellbeing and reduce hours if long shifts harm health or work-life balance.
- Recruitment agencies are used rarely; when they are, agencies must be UK-based and provide Modern Slavery Statements plus Ethical Trading and Forced Labour policies.
- New hires must show evidence of the right to live and work in the UK (Immigration, Asylum & Nationality Act 2006).
- UK and EU suppliers and sub-consultants must provide Modern Slavery Statements and Ethical Trading and Forced Labour policies.
- Pay and employment terms do not differ because of immigration or asylum status.
- We do not employ anyone under 18 except on approved work experience, placements or apprenticeships.
- Under-18s receive the young-worker Working Time Regulations protections.
- Working conditions follow the Health & Safety at Work Act and related regulations, with regular monitoring and audits; employee wellbeing is reviewed and improved.
- Colleagues know the 11 forced-labour indicators: abuse of vulnerability, deception, restricted movement, isolation, physical and sexual violence, intimidation and threats, identity document retention, withheld wages, debt bondage, abusive working or living conditions, and excessive overtime.
- Staff may report concerns about sites, suppliers, sub-consultants or other organisations encountered on company business.
